Dr. Joseph Urash
Dr. Urash is board certified in both the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and The American Board of Family Physicians. A native of the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, he graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Columbia University General Hospital. He served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at NOVA Southeastern University and has published articles in The American Journal of Dermatopathology and Comprehensive Therapy.
Dr. Urash founded the Dermatology Center of Shelby in October, 1999, with a commitment to provide compassionate medical care and informed education to his patients. To this end, he participates in community skin screenings and lectures throughout Cleveland County and surrounding areas. Married with four children, he enjoys the outdoors, spending quality time with his family, and he is a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan.
Phillip Talbert
A native of Tucker, Georgia Phillip earned his B.S. from the University of Georgia, and graduated from Emory University’s Physician Assistant Program in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his residency at the Yale Physician Assistant’s Surgical Residency Program in Norwalk/New Haven, Connecticut.
Prior to joining the Dermatology Center, Phillip worked in emergency medicine and spent nine years in family practice in Lawndale and Fallston, NC.
He has two sons and enjoys cycling, running, hunting, and watching UGA football. He can often be found on the soccer field coaching one of his boy’s teams.
Whittany Cole
Our Nurse Practitioner, Whittany Cole is from Hendersonville, North Carolina. She completed her Family Nurse Practitioner and Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing at Gardner-Web University. Prior to joining Dr. Urash, Whittany spent over 5 years in Oncology and Hematology as a nationally certified Oncology nurse. While completing her Nurse Practitioner Degree she was also employed at Carolinas Healthcare System Cleveland as a registered nurse. Whittany has experience in aesthetics along with diagnosing and treating many dermatological disorders. Outside of work, Whittany enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising and going to the lake.
Licensed Clinical Aesthetician:
Our very qualified and experienced Licensed Clinical Aesthetician offers free consultations for the various cosmetic procedures offered within the practice. Kim answers questions and provides detailed information that helps each individual make informed decisions regarding cosmetic procedures. She also providea a variety of innovative treatments for those patients interested in easing the signs of aging and environmental damage to their skin. The protocols for all treatments have been designed and/or approved by Dr. Urash.
Kimberly Deel
A North Carolina Licensed Clinical Aesthetician and Aesthetics Instructor, Kimberly Deel joined the Dermatology Center team in 2007. She has vast experience in chemical peel and microdermabrasion, and she is certified to perform CoolSculpting, Cutera and Candela laser including laser hair removal, spider veins, unwanted facial veins and sun spots.
Kimberly has advanced training in permanent cosmetics procedures, specializing in eyeliner, eyebrows, lip liner, scar revision, and areola regimentation for breast cancer survivors.
Her passion is helping people achieve the healthiest skin possible. She enjoys creating custom skin care regimes for specific skin care needs, especially for those with challenging skin issues such as sensitive/rosacea and aging skin. Kimberly is available for free consultations for any of the cosmetic services offered at the Dermatology Center.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, especially her two grandchildren, church activities and gardening.
